Hi! I’m Eva Mizer. A Photographer and Retoucher.
Feel free to check out my work, my skills or contact me right away.

I’m a retoucher and photographer living in New York City. As a photographer, I specialize in fashion, portraiture, and product photography. As a retoucher, I specialize in skin, clothing, and products retouching. Currently, I work on a freelance basis. In my spare time, I like to experiment with lighting techniques and test out the newest effects in retouching technology. I also volunteer my photography, retouching, and digital media skills to nonprofit organizations such as animals rescues.
Growing up, I had a strong interest in beauty and science that led to the reading of countless National Geographic magazines. Mesmerized by the photos, my parents gave me a single point-and-shoot film camera that ignited my photography career.
Since then, I’ve taken on everything from beauty to advertising, documentary to editorial. Although I did attend basic photo classes, my dedication to the image has driven me to go above and beyond my studies to learn more about photography on my own.
I have worked for years with All Points North Magazine of Northern New York, producing top quality pictures for stories ranging from lifestyle to investigative reporting. I have also done work with Adirondack Weddings Magazine, and volunteered my time with non-profit organizations such as the Adirondack Pit Bull Rescue and the ASPCA.
This past summer, I interned at the in-house studio for the Hearst Corporation, Studio D. I gained extensive experience assisting top advertising and beauty photographers and stylists to create images for magazines such as Seventeen, Harpers Bazaar, Red Book, Esquire, and HGTV Magazine.
I have also graduated with a double bachelors degree in Communications and Digital Media with a broad background in digital media, photography, and journalism in December of 2011.

Many people have been asking me how I took the shot of a Great Horned Owl.
It was a relatively simple shot. Since I couldn’t transport him to the lighting studio, I brought my equipment with me to the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge in Wilmington, NY, and set up. Since I needed low light, but not too low as to frighten or blind the bird when my flash fired. Considering the power they have in their wings and their sharp talons and beak, the consideration was also given for the safety of myself and Steve Hall.
So over the past summer, I had the chance to go home and visit with family and fellow photographer. Around that time, the corn was about waist-high in places and I was looking for an excuse to use it, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone.
